Barcelona's two-goal heroes from El Clasico, Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry, have spoken with immense pride after helping their team to 6-2 victory over Real Madrid.

After a spectacular performance, Messi was understandably excited, saying, "We deserved the victory.

"We have been faithful to our style all year. It was an impressive game.

"We showed that we deserved to be champions."

The Argentine then looked forward to the crucial midweek clash against Chelsea, continuing, "Now we must take another important step in London.

"I am feeling great and we must take this confidence into the game."

Henry was similarly delighted, although he did offer a note of caution.

"Today is a special day for Cules, " he said. "Winning like this is like a festival.

"We must enjoy it."

The Frenchman then further emphasised the importance of the result, especially following last year's events, when Barca had to form a guard of honour at the Bernabeu.

"After what happened last year, we had to win," he continued. "I played last year and it was difficult.

"This year was much better."

While most of Barcelona may be celebrating, Henry is not getting carried away just yet: "We have still not won anything.

"There are still games left and we have to see what happens after Chelsea.

"Madrid have shown that they will not give up."
