thumbnail Hello,

It would appear that Barca have at least two of the best players in the world at the moment, according to Samu…

Barcelona finally proved that they do not suffer from an over-dependency on their Argentine virtuoso, Lionel Messi, as a masterclass from the unassuming Andres Iniesta almost single-handedly guided the Blaugrana to a thumping 4-0 win over Sevilla on Wednesday night.

The 24-year-old netted his side first goal before setting up the other three strikes, and Samuel Eto’o, one of those who benefited from the Spaniard's assistance, sung the praises of his team-mate.

“Whenever Iniesta steps on to the pitch, he creates a spectacle. He is the best player in the world,” he told the club’s official website after the game.

Quickly turning his attention to the title bout with Real Madrid, and the possibility of winning the crown at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Cameroonian said, “We focus on our own league and Madrid focus on theirs.

“It does not worry me where we win La Liga, the only thing that matters is to win it. Our purpose is to improve ourselves in every game and we are already achieving that.

“I just hope that we do not suffer any injuries and we can all play together until the end.”

Midfielder Xavi, who netted the team’s third goal, chipped in, “We do not want to give any message to the fans; we simply want to continue doing our work.

“We have to approach everything with humility and hard work, and show our talent.

“Despite Madrid’s result, we will not be discouraged. Nothing is easy and we have to work for everything.”

Finally, the finisher of Iniesta’s third assist, Thierry Henry, warned that the team have not bagged any silverware yet.

“We are doing what we have to do, which is to play well and win, although winning is always the most important. When we’re out on the pitch, we only want to win,” he affirmed.

“We are in the final of the Copa del Rey, semi-finals of the Champions League and we’re leading La Liga. We’re close to winning something but we have not achieved anything yet.”
