Andres Iniesta: Barcelona In Great Form But Not The Champions Yet

The red-hot Blaugrana attacker believes that his side are on course for success this season, but cautioned that it’s far from a done deal.

Barcelona continued their ruthless charge towards Primera Division glory with another scintillating performance to demolish Sevilla 4-0 at the Camp Nou.

Andres Iniesta, starting on the wing in place of the unfit Lionel Messi, was the star of the show as he opened scoring with a spectacular goal before going on to set-up the other three.

Speaking to reporters after the game, he admitted that Barca are going through a fantastic run, but ever so gingerly warned that they have not yet won anything.

“The team have been doing very well and there’s a good feeling around the squad, but we still have not achieved anything. We do not feel like champions yet,” he said during the post-match banter.

Iniesta refused to take the plaudits for his dazzling individual performance on the night, as he instead praised his fellow team-mates.

“Personally, I am feeling fine but credit must go to the entire team because we defeated a great rival,” he offered.

“We scored a lot of goals, we are playing the same way we have been all season, we’re motivated, and now we must maintain that level.”

Finally, the 24-year-old looked ahead to the tantalising, potentially title-deciding clash against Real Madrid in just under ten days’ time.

“It will be a very exciting game and it will be very tense,” he concluded.
