Recreativo Coach Alcaraz Upbeat Despite Sevilla Loss
His side may have lost another game, but the Recre boss is adamant that they will not go down...
Recreativo coach Lucas Alcaraz was obviously disappointed with his side's loss to Sevilla, but he could not fault his players' effort.
The loss plunges Recreativo into further relegation trouble, leaving them just one point above 18th-placed Osasuna.
However, speaking at the post-match press conference, Alcaraz was not too disheartened.
"The players deserved a better result, but the coach can not finish the chances off," he said.
"We had three great chances in the first half. We tried to equalise but their defence was excellent and did not allow it."
When asked what Recre's chances of surviving the drop were, Alcaraz was not interested in any speculation, simply stating, "There are still a lot of points to play for and nothing is decided."
Things are not likely to get any easier for Recreativo in the coming weeks, as they face matches against Barcelona, Real Madrid and Villarreal.
