Villarreal’s Marcos Senna Picks Up Ankle Injury In Spain - Turkey World Cup Clash
The Brazilian-born combatant had to limp out of the World Cup qualifier against Turkey. His injury will come as a blow to his club side…
The Brazilian-born holding midfielder suffered a series of knocks throughout the game but a strong challenge in the 65th minute left him with a heavy blow to his ankle and he was forced to be replaced by club-mate, Santi Cazorla.
According to Marca, the doctors in the Spanish camp confirmed that the 32-year-old suffered a light sprain to the internal side ligament of his left ankle. The good news for the Yellow Submarine, though, is that he is only expected to miss this weekend’s game against Almeria, although there’s no certainty he will make a full recovery for the following midweek clash with Arsenal in the Champions League.
Spain won the match in Turkey 2-1 to move them one step closer to securing an early qualification to the 2010 World Cup.
