Sanchez takes his Almeria side to the Bernabeu this afternoon, looking for the points to ease the minor threat of relegation that lingers around his club, and he has been the centre of attention at his return to the venue of so many of his finest moments as a player in the white of Real Madrid.
The Mexican made 278 appearances in a seven-year period with Los Merengues and scored an incredible 205 goals in that time, and he spent the morning signing autographs and talking to supporters outside the stadium.
But, according to website 20minutos.es, he made it clear that he will be celebrating as passionately as anyone if his side manage to grab a goal.
He joked, "Possibly I will get the encouragement to do a cartwheel if we manage a goal."
50-year old Sanchez also stated his desire to see Real Madrid win the title for the third successive season, despite the fact that his side face them this afternoon.
He added, "Real Madrid will win the league this season, and this is exactly what I want."
Real Madrid have the chance to close the gap on leaders Barcelona to just three points before they face Malaga in the evening kick off on Matchday 28 of the Primera Division season.
