Easier For Valencia To Win Titles With Silva And Villa - Maduro
The defender knows that his side face losing their two star players...
Hedwiges Maduro has admitted today what many Valencia fans are thinking; that it is easier for his side to win titles if they have David Villa and David Silva.
The pair are widely rumoured to be leaving the Mestalla this summer along with a host of other players, as Valencia look to improve their financial situation.
Maduro is one of those who could be on his way too, but he told AS that he is happy with the Spanish side and is enjoying playing there.
"Valencia is a great club. I have been here a year-and-a-half and I want to win things. I think that it is easier with Villa and Silva here because they are big players," he explained.
"Villa and Silva are very important players for Valencia...Villa is very important because he always scores but we can win without him as other players can score."
Maduro himself has gone from a second string player to playing regularly lately admitted that football is "strange" and that after some "tough months" his work has allowed him " to play".
"I believe that it is important for players to be happy and to work hard every day...I am a flexible player but I would like to play in the same position, because it is better for performance," he mused.
The Dutchman also spoke about the current situation of the club and said it is "normal" that when you do not win "confidence is low".
"I think it is a mental question, what is most important now is to win, that is the only answer," he concluded.
