Samuel Eto'o Rues Missed Chances Against Athletic Bilbao
The striker may not have scored, but the overall result was all that mattered in the end...
Samuel Eto'o was thrilled with Barcelona's performance on Saturday night, if not his own.
Eto'o hit the post twice and missed several other chances, but profligacy proved academic as the Blaugrana ran out 2-0 winners over Athletic Bilbao.
He told the press after the game, "I was not clever. It seemed that even if we had played for three hours, I would not have scored.
"But the important thing is that we created a lot of chances and won the game."
When asked if Barca had recovered their form, Eto'o simply replied, "We won the game because we did not concede any goals. We played well in the other games as well, but we conceded too many goals."
Finally, the Cameroonian striker spoke of the title race, continuing, "We are only worried with our performances. We don't care what Real Madrid do."
