The president stated that the Basques should be terrified of Kanoute...Sevilla president, Jose Maria Del Nido, has fired out a warning shot ahead of the Copa Del Rey semi-final this week, saying his side will eat Athletic Bilbao.
The Andalucian team travel to San Mames this Wednesday already holding a 2-1 lead in the tie and having beaten Athletic by the same scoreline at the weekend.
On that occasion, Freddy Kanoute grabbed two brilliant goals and Del Nido told AS that "no Basque fan will be sleeping easy knowing that Kanoute will be in front of goal".
He also said that although he has "all the respect for Athletic Bilbao and Basque football" his side are "going to eat los Leones from the mane to the tail".
Certainly Sevilla were the better side at the weekend but on that occasion Athletic rested many of the their star players, including Fernando Llorente.
Del Nido claimed that with Kanoute on his side he is "not worried at all" about Llorente but that Manolo Jimenez will decide if Luis Fabiano plays for them or not.
Lastly, the president claimed that he has "the same feeling now as when Sevilla have done big things in the past" and that although "the motivation of the players is for the coach", they must also be in tune.
