Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Frederic Kanoute has issued a warning to Athletic Bilbao that Sevilla are desperate to progress to the final of the Copa Del Rey, and he's confident his side have what it takes to finish off the job at San Mames on Wednesday.
Sevilla needed a late Lautaro Acosta goal to secure a 2-1 win in the first leg in Andalusia a fortnight ago, and Manolo Jiminez's side have won their last three Primera Division matches, cementing their place in the top three in the table.
Furthermore, Kanoute himself grabbed an excellent double to defeat an under-strength Bilbao side on Saturday evening, and the tall striker was quick to point out that even when Caparros calls upon his star names, Sevilla will be ready for them.
Spanish website El Des Marque reports that Kanoute stated, "We are playing with great confidence at the moment. We have played all the sides at the top, and on Wednesday, [Athletic] Bilbao may change their players and their mentality, but we want to reach the final and we will get there."
Kanoute also claimed the Sevilla's experience in cup competitions in recent seasons will work in their favour, making Athletic Bilbao the more likely to be apprehensive about the occasion.
He continued, "We currently have a good advantage, and they will be more nervous. We have played far better away from home this season than at home, and if we continue along this line then we should win."
Sevilla's positive recent run of form has moved them onto 47 points from a possible 25 matches in La Liga.
