Zenit St. Petersburg Set To Move For Sevilla's Dragutinovic - Reports

The Russian side will come with an offer in the next week...

Ivica Dragutinovic could soon be swapping Spain for Russia according to reports from AS this afternoon.

Zenit St. Petersburg are reportedly interested in signing the Sevilla defender and will come in with an offer for him in the next few days.

Dragutinovic currently has a contract with the Andalucian side until 2011 but he has rarely played under Manolo Jimenez this season.

His buy-out clause of €20 million seems like a hefty price for Zenit to pay but they are a club with plenty of financial muscle.

If they come with an offer it is thought that Sevilla will not hesitate to negotiate with them and this could well happen by the time the week is out.

Indeed, with the Russian season beginning soon and the transfer window closing on March 12 they will have to move quickly.

For the 34-year old it seems like a good move too, due to the fact he is likely to receive one last contract before he retires.

Zenit coach, Dick Advocaat, has reportedly asked for money not to be an object in his hunt for a new defender, but due to the situation of Dragutinovic they could get him reasonably cheap.

The defender has played just nine times for Sevilla this season and with plenty of cover at the back, Jimenez is unlikely to be too concerned about losing him.
