Thierry Henry Urges Barcelona Team-Mates To Forget About Atletico Defeat

Barca’s French forward has advised his colleagues to put last night’s setback at the Calderon behind them as quickly as possible and focus on returning to winning ways.

Thierry Henry continued his resurgent form after rippling the back of the net twice against Atletico Madrid last night. It wasn’t enough, however, for his Barcelona side to end their three-match winless run as they plummeted to a sensational 4-3 loss.

It was the Blaugrana’s second consecutive league defeat, but 'Titi' has moved swiftly to urge his colleagues to shrug off last night’s disappointment in order to move forward.

“Nobody likes to lose a game but it is necessary to forget about tonight’s match and focus straight away on the Copa del Rey and think about winning again in La Liga,” he told reporters at the end of the clash at the Vicente Calderon.

“Tomorrow is another day. Now, we must concentrate on beating Mallorca in the Copa to advance to the final.”

Henry, like his coach, Pep Guardiola, has dismissed the idea that the team are losing steam after a ruthless run in the first four months of the campaign.

“I do not believe that the problem is because we are tired. The physical training conditions have nothing to do with it. I, personally, am feeling fine,” he concluded.

Barcelona now only lead Real Madrid by four points in the Primera Division, after holding a 12-point lead just last month. They will be hoping for better luck this Wednesday when they travel to sunny Mallorca for the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
