The men who gave Real Madrid their 2-0 win at Espanyol have offered their views on the victory at Montjuic while also looking to the road ahead.

Guti came off the bench and had an instant impact, scoring a sumptuous free kick to give his side the lead. He analysed the match simply, saying, "We needed a goal, and when we scored the second we were calm."

The midfielder could not resist offering a prediction for next week's derby, stating, "I expect that we will beat Atletico [Madrid]."

Raul clinched the Merengues' tenth consecutive domestic win with a sublime goal, and he was suitably pleased with the performance.

"After the break we managed to regroup and earn an important victory. We played a perfect game that was broken open by Guti," said the skipper.

The gap between Real and Barcelona is now just four points, but Raul was not getting carried away.

"Tomorrow we will relax and watch the game on television," he added. "Barcelona has great players but every game is difficult."
