Olympiacos Sack Head Coach Zico
The Greek champions have parted company with Zico...
By Stefan Coerts
The former Fenerbahce coach had only been in charge at Olympiacos for four months, but the 56-year-old has failed to get things back on track lately at the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium.
Olympiacos have slipped five points behind league leaders Panathinaikos following two defeats in their last four matches.
"Olympiacos announces the termination of their co-operation with coach Zico and his assistants Eduardo Antunes Coimbra and Morassi Vasconcelos Santana. The technical leadership of the team will be undertaken by Bozidar Bandovic and Andreas Niniadis for the time being," a statement on the official Olympiacos website reads.
The 40-year-old Bandovic has already had a stint as caretaker boss at Olympiacos after the departure of Temuri Ketsbaia earlier this season. Olympiacos lock horns with PAOK next Sunday.
