Polish International Ebi Smolarek Joins Kavala

The versatile attacker has finally found a new club...

Ebi Smolarek - Racing
Greek side Kavala have announced the capture of Polish international Ebi Smolarek in an official statement on the club's website. The attacker has signed a contract until 2012 at his new club.

Smolarek is a product of the Feyenoord youth academy and left the Dutch side for an adventure at Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2004.

The attacker impressed at BVB and scored 25 goals in 82 league appearances, attracting the interest of Primera Division outfit Racing Santander in the process.

However, his stay at Santander was a huge disappointment for Smolarek and he was released on a free transfer last summer after having spent six months on loan at Bolton Wanderers.

The forward appeared to be on his way to Hamburger SV earlier this year, but the move eventually fell through.
