Nikos Nioplias Appointed As New Panathinaikos Coach
The Greek powerhouse have already found a new coach...
Greek giants Panathinaikos have appointed Nikos Nioplias as their new head coach. It's a quick move by the Europa League hopefuls after parting company with Henk ten Cate on Tuesday.
Nioplias previously enjoyed a successful spell in charge of Greece's under-21 team and made it clear that he was looking forward to the challenge of helping Panathinaikos to the summit of the table.
"I start the job in charge of Pana with immediate effect. I want to achieve the same as a coach as I achieved when I played at the club. I want to win a lot of silverware," said Nioplias upon his arrival.
Krzysztof Warzycha has been appointed as assistant manager at the Greek side. The former Polish attacker also had a stay at Panathinaikos as a player.
Pana currently sit second in the Greek table, trailing rivals Olympiacos by one point.
