Panathinaikos Target David Arrives In Athens
There might just be a Brazilian flavour to Pana's first transfer movement of January...
Former Brazilian youth international and Panathinaikos target David has arrived in Athens with a view to joining the Greek giants.
The 21 year-old reportedly flew into Greece on Sunday morning purely out of his own initiative so that he could sign with the club.
Whilst Pana are reportedly keen to sign him, the club will not move for the player until they have confirmed that he is not still under contract with Brazilian club Palmeiras.
The capture of the centre-back’s signature would mark the first January transfer movement by manager Henk Ten Cate, who is keen to reinforce his squad ahead of a massive clash with Villarreal in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.
The Dutch manager is rumoured to also be negotiating a loan move for PSV player Mike Zonneveld, following the departures of Brazilian striker Gabriel Souza and Greece international Alexandros Tziolis from the club this month, the latter the subject of a loan move to Werder Bremen.
