Tennis star Roger Federer has come out in defence of his friend Henry, saying that the player is not to blame but football needs to introduce the kind of technology used in tennis.
"You can't blame him for carrying on," the 28-year-old Swiss said on Friday, according to Reuters.
"If the referee doesn't see it, I just think it is the system which is at fault. So many goals are given that weren't goals, this is just one more. I am surprised that this type of error can occur in football."
The world number one tennis player thinks that there should actually be more technology used in football than his sport.
He added, "I think it [football] needs it more than tennis.
"You can't stop play and analyse everything but you can do a few things so things like this don't happen and then Thierry Henry would not be in the position he is in."
