Former England Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce believes the 32-year-old midfielder's arrival would be a boost to the Gunners' young stars
Several reports have suggested that Pep Guardiola will sell the 32-year-old after he takes the reins at City this summer, while the Ivorian’s agent claimed in February that he expects the midfielder to leave.
And Pearce, who managed City for two years, believes Toure is exactly the type of signing Arsene Wenger needs at Arsenal.
“On his day Yaya Toure is outstanding,” Pearce told talkSPORT.
“Arsenal need an old head within the team.
“Petr Cech has proved a fantastic success this year at Arsenal, and to have a player like Toure at the centre of midfield, as that holding type of player, I think he’d give one or two of the youngsters a bit of a lift.
“I think he’d be a good signing for them.”
