Middlesbrough have completed the season-long loan signing of Chelsea starlet Patrick Bamford.
The 20-year-old has been locked in talks with Boro for weeks, and as Goal revealed earlier this summer, an agreement has long been in place between the two clubs.
But now Bamford - who impressed during loan spells with MK Dons and Derby last season - has put pen to paper and will spend the rest of the season on loan in the North East.
Bamford joins Chelsea team-mate Kenneth Omeruo on-loan at Boro as the two clubs continue to forge a close relationship, and the Championship side are still hoping Lewis Baker will also arrive at the Riverside Stadium before the transfer window slams shut on Monday.
The news that Bamford has signed will be a huge boost to boss Aitor Karanka, who has been looking to bolster his attacking options in recent weeks.
“Everyone knows that Patrick is a very good player with a bright future in the game,” Karanka told the club's official website. “He scored a lot of goals during his previous loan spells and will be a good addition to our squad.
“I’m looking forward to working with him.”
