Fenerbahce have confirmed they have opened formal negotiations with Roma over the transfer of Salih Ucan.
The 20-year-old midfielder made 15 league appearances for Fener last term as the Turkish giants claimed the Super Lig title.
After weeks of speculation, the club have confirmed that the Turkey international is on the verge of sealing a switch to Serie A.
“Negotiations with Roma over the transfer of our player Salih Ucan have officially started,” read an official Fenerbahce club statement.
Ucan, who made his lone international appearance against Northern Ireland in November last year, joined the club from Bucaspor in 2012.
Roma were linked with a €10 million move for the youngster but while Fener are yet to release the type of deal they negotiating, the Italian club are believed to be hoping to seal an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
