'Chelsea want Filipe Luis, but Atletico don't want to sell' - agent

Jose Mourinho is in search of a new left-back to bolster his defence this summer, but Garcia Quilon believes that Diego Simeone's side will not let their star players leave easily
The agent of Filipe Luis has confirmed that Chelsea are interested in signing the defender, but has warned that Atletico Madrid are reluctant to sell the full-back.

The 28-year-old played an integral part in Diego Simeone's side in the 2013-14 season as Los Rojiblancos completed a dramatic final day Liga title triumph and finished runners-up in the Champions league after losing the final to Real Madrid.

But while Luis' agent Garcia Quilon comfirmed the Premier League side's interest in the left-back, he believes the Blues will face a fight to prise the Brazilian away from an Atleti side determined to keep their best players.

"The interest is there, but Atletico don't want to sell," said Quilon when asked about the Blues’ interest.

"They want to keep every player they can for next season. Then, we'll see what's happening with different players, but Atletico don't have any intention to sell anyone."

Luis has spent the last four year at the Vicente Claderon after moving from Deportivo, and is currently on Brazil's standby list for this summer's World Cup.

Jose Mourinho is looking for a left-back after letting Ashley Cole leave the club on a free transfer, having played Cesar Azpilicueta - a natural right-back - there for much of last season.

Atletico conceded just 28 goals in 36 games on their way to the Spanish title, and Luis' experience and physical presence would fit the mould of Mourinho's recent signings.

Luke Shaw is also a target for the Blues, but it has been revealed that Manchester United are favourites to sign the Southampton starlet due to both Chelsea and Manchester City having to rein in their spending in light of Uefa's Financial Fair Play regualations.
