thumbnail Hello,

The midfielder's representative has ruled out a return to Italy and believes he fully deserves to go to the World Cup with the Azzurri

Marco Verratti's agent, Donato Di Campli, has laughed off rumours that his client could leave Paris Saint-Germain for Juventus this summer.

The Italy international was believed to be close to joining the Serie A champions back in 2012, but eventually opted to leave hometown club Pescara for PSG instead.

Juventus remain keen admirers of the 21-year-old playmaker, who has a contract with the Ligue 1 giants until 2018, but his representative has ruled out a return to Italy at this point.

"Verratti to Juventus? I can only respond with a sarcastic smile," Di Campli told TeleRadioSterio.

"Because even though Juventus are a great club, there is no denying that Serie A is going through a difficult time."

Verratti's agent then went on to discuss the midfielder's chances of making it to the World Cup and argued that Azzurri coach Cesare Prandelli would be wrong to leave the PSG star out of his final squad.

"I nearly fell off my seat when I heard Marco could miss out on the World Cup," Di Campli exclaimed. "A lot of my colleagues were shocked.

"I have a lot of respect for Prandelli, but when he says it's a tactical issue I can only reply that Marco has played alongside Thiago Motta in midfield all season."

Verratti has been included in Italy's 30-strong provisional squad for Brazil but the panel will be trimmed to 23 players by June 2.
