Sandro says Tottenham future hinges on Sherwood departure

The Brazilian has been linked with a return to his homeland with Sao Paolo, having made just seven appearances in 2014 after picking up a calf injury in December

Tottenham midfielder Sandro is unsure what his future holds, but has hinted be could be open to a move away from White Hart Lane.

The Brazil international has struggled to re-establish himself in the Spurs midfield in the second half of the season after suffering a calf injury in December, making just seven appearances in 2014.

Instead, head coach Tim Sherwood has opted to use Paulinho as his main defensive option in the middle of the park, leaving Sandro out in the cold.

However, the 25-year-old hopes the departure of Sherwood at the end of the campaign could reignite his career in north London - or elsewhere.

"He [Sherwood] will leave at the end of the season. Then, new coach, new everything," Sandro told

"I don't know anything yet, but I'm happy to have my name talked about in Sao Paulo.

"It would be very difficult for a loan. I would have to be sold and it's not cheap.

"Other teams came for me, but with too little money."
