West Ham hope to complete the double loan signing of Antonio Nocerino and Marco Borriello this weekend.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has been frantically looking for reinforcements this winter following a catalogue of injury problems within his squad that have seen the Londoners drift into the bottom three.

And the club's efforts look to have reaped dividends, with the imminent arrival of the Italian pair.

Midfielder Nocerino, 28, is due to fly into London on Friday after agreement was reached with his club AC Milan, while 31-year-old striker Boriello will also arrive this weekend from Roma.

It is hoped that both will undergo medicals as early as Saturday before putting pen-to-paper on loan arrangements until the summer.

Both players have played 11 Serie A games this season, Nocerino as part of an AC Milan side that is struggling in 11th place in the league, a massive 30 points behind leaders Juventus.

Borriello, meanwhile, has managed just one goal this season for second-placed Roma, and is far from first choice at the capital club.

The pair's arrival will provide a timely boost to Allardyce and West Ham, who recently gave up hope in the race to sign Monaco's new signing Lacina Traore on loan, the frontman looking set to join Everton instead, barring a late reversal following Radamel Falcao's serious knee injury.
