The 21-year-old has been rewarded for his fine performances in 2013-14 so far with a renewed contract at Signal Iduna ParkJonas Hofmann has extended his contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2018.
The 21-year-old, who has been with the Bundesliga giants since joining from Hoffenheim in 2011, has broken into the first-team set-up this season and was rewarded on Friday with an extension to his deal at Signal Iduna Park.
"I've always been helped continuously at BVB," Hofmann told the German club's official website. "I have made the jump from the junior to the professional team and I know that I have the confidence, support and calmness here to keep improving.
"The overall package Borussia Dortmund can offer both on and off the pitch is almost unbeatable for a young player like me, I'm totally happy to be able to spend more years as part of the great BVB family."
BVB sporting director Michael Zorc believes that Hofmann's rapid progress will not slow down and expressed his delight at securing the Germany Under-21 star on a long-term deal.
"Jonas has made huge steps forward in recent months, but he's nowhere near the end of his development," Zorc said.
"We are delighted to work long-term with him and he will hopefully spend the best part of his career with us."
Hofmann will be hoping to be involved once again this weekend when Dortmund host Hamburg at 18:30CET on Saturday.
