Celtic in talks with Manchester United over Buttner loan, says agent

The player's representative claims the Scottish champions have been in negotiations with the Premier League holders over a temporary move for the Dutch full-back
Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner’s agent, Aleksander Bursac, says Celtic want to take the full-back on loan.

The Dutchman has been linked with an exit from Old Trafford throughout the transfer window with Bursac previously claiming interest from Besiktas.

Buttner made just 13 appearances for the Premier League champions last season and may see his first-team chances further reduced should David Moyes’s men sign Leighton Baines from Everton.

It is understood United have submitted a new bid for Baines and Marouane Fellaini and Bursac believes Buttner could be set to move to Scotland with Celtic, although he remains unsure if United will allow the defender to leave.

"Yes, Celtic would like to take the player on loan for the season,” he told STV Sport.

“We feel it would greatly help the boy's development to be playing regularly at that level and in European football.

"Celtic are a really great club. They [Celtic] have been back and forward in dialogue with Manchester United.

"It's in their hands now as we are not sure if they want to release him."
