Inter president Massimo Moratti has vowed to retain the services of both Andrea Ranocchia and Fredy Guarin beyond this summer.
Serie A champions have been credited with an interest in defender Ranocchia in the close season, while the future of midfielder Guarin remains in doubt after an inconsistent campaign with the Nerazzurri, despite the player himself affirming his commitment to the side.
However, Moratti says he expects both to remain at San Siro for next season as the club look to kick on from a dismal campaign in 2012-13.
"Yes, I think we can rule out a Ranocchia departure," he told the club's official website.
"The defence is an area where we really need to strengthen and he is one of the best defenders in the country, and he's an Italy international.
"It is great that Guarin has said he wants to stay and he's a player who has such quality that he is one of the most sought-after players in the market, and we'll looking to him to go forward," he added.
