Cabaye will review future after admitting Manchester United interest

The Newcastle midfielder will review his options during the summer break as, though unaware of any reciprocation, he is keen on the idea of joining the Red Devils
Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has fueled speculation of a move away from the club after admitting his interest in playing for Manchester United.

The Frenchman's strong performances in his two years on Tyneside have drawn plenty of admirers, with reports suggesting that big-spending Monaco are chasing his signature, though he claims that he is unaware of any concrete approaches.

"Yes, of course [a move to United would be of interest]," Cabaye told Canal+. "I have liked this club for a long time, I like what they do.

"The boss has left but they have appointed a very good successor [in David Moyes]. It could be an interesting challenge but for the moment there is nothing concrete and I am still at Newcastle."

The France international had previously reiterated his happiness at the club but speculation over his future continues with the player now confirming that he will review his position following les Bleus' fixtures against Uruguay and Brazil.

"You never know what happens in football," he continued. "I am here at the moment. The season is not finished as I have still two matches [for France].

"After that, going on holiday can't come soon enough to clear my head of the difficult season we have just had and I let my agents work for me.

"I have had no direct contact with anyone. Maybe my agents are currently in the know - as for me, I am here listening. I will need to look at the situation but you never know."
