Stefan Kiessling has denied knowledge of Borussia Dortmund’s reported interested but admitted that he is pleased to be linked with top clubs.
The Bayer Leverkusen striker has been in fine form this season, netting 15 times in 22 matches in the Bundesliga to top the goalscorer's list with Mario Mandzukic, which has helped the club reach third as of mid-February.
The Germany international, who is contracted with the club until 2015, expressed his surprise at such transfer rumours circulating ahead of his team’s flight to Portugal to face Benfica in the second leg of their Europa League.
"I don't know anything about it and I'm surprised [by this rumour] myself," he told reporters ahead of his team’s flight to Portugal. "It's a non-issue for me.
"It's a nice recognition if your name gets dropped in such a context. However, I don't want it to cause unrest among the team."
Following Bayer Leverkusen’s Europa League encounter, an away game against Greuther Furth awaits on Sunday.
