Galatasaray expect imminent Sneijder deal
The Turkish champions' sporting director believes the Dutchman will "most likely agree" terms with his side within the next few days but is determined not to jump the gun
Wesley Sneijder is extremely likely to become a Galatasaray player, according to Abdurrahim Albayrak, who expects the playmaker to give the club an answer by Friday night. The Super Lig holders agreed a fee with Inter to engage in talks with the Netherlands international earlier in the week, and the sporting director admits that his side expect to announce the midfielder's arrival soon.
"Sneijder's transfer is one of great interest, especially the president's. All that is left is for the player to agree to the move," Albayrak told Sporx.
"His wages are too high for Inter, and right now, it is most likely that the player will accept our terms."
"He is thinking about giving us an answer this evening. Perhaps he has yet to talk to other clubs, but Inter have agreed a deal with us for a fraction of his market value."
However, Albayrak stopped short of giving the transfer his seal of approval, adding: "There is no signature without the agreement so I cannot say much more.
"I've got to be very cautious and represent my club's interests."
