Shakhtar reject £11.9m Tottenham bid for Willian & reveal Spurs interest in Douglas Costa & Fernandinho
Tottenham's €15m bid for Willian has been rejected by Shakhtar, while the North London club are also interested in signing Fernandinho and Douglas Costa from the Ukrainian club
Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergei Palkin has revealed that the club have rejected an offer of €15 million (£11.9m) from Tottenham for attacking midfielder Willian.Palkin also disclosed that Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is interested in signing two more of Shakhtar’s Brazilians, Douglas Costa and Fernandinho.
Tottenham were believed to be close to a deal for Brazilian playmaker Willian, but as yet the two sides have yet to reach an agreement. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is currently in the Ukraine personally negotiating the deal according to Palkin, who has previously stated that Willian would not be sold for less than 30 million euros.
"Mr. Levy, the Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, personally flew to Donetsk to negotiate over Willian. But his latest offer was €15m, which we, of course, did not accept," Palkin told the club’s official website.

Douglas Costa, who mainly plays on the right wing, and Fernandinho, a central midfielder, could replace Aaron Lennon and Scott Parker, both of whom have been made available by Tottenham, as revealed by Goal.com earlier today. Likewise, Willian could be a direct replacement for a HSV-bound Rafael van der Vaart.
