Werder Bremen are hopeful of tying up a loan deal for Chelsea youngster Kevin De Bruyne after revealing talks between the two clubs are continuing.
The 20-year-old joined Roberto Di Matteo's side in January from Belgium outfit Genk but was immediately sent back out on loan to his former club, and now his development looks set to continue in Germany during the upcoming campaign.
The Blues had always had the intention of loaning out the Belgium international this summer and now it seems he will be plying his trade in the Bundesliga come the start of the season where he will look to gain further experience before proving himself at Stamford Bridge.
"We have an interest in the services of Kevin de Bruyne and, of course, we are in talks," Tino Polster, media spokesperson of Werder, told Kicker Sportmagazin.
"Those talks are progressing very well. And we are hopeful to conclude the details soon enough. But by now the deal is not a done deal."
Chelsea have delved deep into the Belgium market over the last year with Eden Hazard, Thorgan Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne all joining the club over the past 12 months.
