The midfielder had previously been linked with AC Milan, but has now decided on a switch to the Verona outfit following his former side's relegation last season.
"Novara have officially transferred the player Marco Rigoni to Chievo on a temporary basis with the option to buy," a statement on the club's official website read.
"Novara Calcio thanks the player for the great commitment and professionalism he has always demonstrated over the years spent with the club."
Rigoni was one of Novara’s stand-out performers last season, scoring 11 times in 35 appearances as the club battled in vain to avoid the drop.
The hard-working midfielder has spent the past three years with the Biancoazzurri, having previously played for the likes of Pescara and Ternana in Serie B.
