'I want to stay at Porto' - Rodriguez plays down Manchester United link
The former Banfield ace insists he is not thinking about a move away from the Estadio do Dragao, as reports continue to link him with the Red Devils
James Rodriguez has vowed to stay at Porto this summer after downplaying the possibility of him joining European rivals Manchester United. The Colombia international has persistently been linked with the Premier League giants since confirming his billing as one of South America's hottest prospects following a €5 million switch to the Portuguese champions in 2010.
However, the 21-year-old claims an exit from the Estadio do Dragao is currently not on the agenda as he is about to enter his third season at the club.
"I want to stay here, Porto are a big club and they are my present," he told reporters. "My only thought is playing for Porto and I am also thinking about what is best for the club."
Rodriguez also had words of praise for fellow countryman Jackson Martinez, who earned an €8.9 million switch to Porto last week, having impressed at Mexican side Jaguares.
"He is an excellent player, a great goal scorer," he noted. "I hope that he will have a good season.
"Comparisons with Radamel Falcao? They are different players."
