Interest from Inter and Real Madrid makes me think, says Sao Paulo's Lucas
The Brazilian starlet hinted that he may soon leave the club go try his luck in Europe, while stating that he has grown tired of being compared to Neymar
Sao Paulo ace Lucas has admitted that he is not indifferent to reported interest from Real Madrid and Inter in his services.Spanish sources have claimed that Madrid have turned their attention to the 19-year-old after failing in their efforts to sign Santos' Neymar, with the Italian giants also said to be hovering.
It has been suggested that Lucas could follow in Neymar's footsteps and decide against leaving for Europe before 2014, but the Brazil international has refused to pledge his long-term future to Sao Paulo.
"There is no way to tell that I will stay until 2014 because that is a long time from now and no one knows what will happen tomorrow," Lucas told Estadao.
"I am happy at Sao Paulo and I want to put the club back in the Copa Libertadores and help it to win titles.
"I am not obsessed about leaving. When it is time to leave, I will sit down with my family and see what the best thing for me is.
"But then you go on the internet and you read that Inter and Real Madrid are willing to pay a lot of money for me. Of course this makes you think.
"But I am not letting that get to me, I am calm and with my feet on the ground with regards to that."
Lucas, who broke into Sao Paulo's first team in 2010, then admitted that he has grown tired of being compared with Brazil team-mate Neymar.
"That does not bother me, but it gets tiring because I do not like comparisons because each player has their own style and characteristics," he noted.
"It is the same thing as comparing an attacker with a defender, but people do that because we are from the same generation.
"I understand when it happens, but I do not like it very much."
