Dos Santos will leave Tottenham for a new club, reveals Mexico U-23 coach Luis Fernando Tena
By Eric Gomez
Jun 29, 2012 2:00:00 PM
The 23-year-old has long been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, and according to his country's Olympics coach, is travelling to Europe to finalise the move
Giovani dos Santos will leave Tottenham and sign for a new club, Mexico Under-23 coach Luis Fernando Tena has revealed. The 23-year-old moved to the Londoners in 2008, but has failed to win a starting place, and has been forced to go on loan to Ipswich Town, Galatasaray and Racing Santander in order to get first team action.
However, his time with Spurs is soon to come to and end, and although the former Cruz Azul boss knows his destination, he refused to disclose Dos Santos' next club.
"His not being here is not a pretext. He has to go [to Europe] and sign some papers. He asked us to be there in order to fulfil his transfer from Tottenham to another team," he told reporters in Mexico City.

Suitors including Atletico Madrid and Sevilla of Spain have been touted as potential destinations for Dos Santos, with English clubs Liverpool, Swansea City and recently-relegated Bolton also being named.
Tena also referenced Carlos Vela and Jonathan dos Santos, who declined to heed the call for London 2012.
"With all due respect for those not here, I'm not sorry for them. We don't even remember it, actually," Tena concluded.
