Zenit St. Petersburg defender Bruno Alves is interested in joining Juventus, the player's father and agent has claimed.

The Portugal international was persistently associated with the Bianconeri last summer, but a move failed to materialise as the Serie A champions was unable to reach an agreement with the Russian outfit.

It is believed, however, that Juventus' interest in Alves has resurfaced, and the 30-year-old is believed to be relishing the prospect of a transfer to Turin.

"My son could have joined Juventus a year ago," Washington Alves told Tuttosport. "This opportunity is still available and is to his liking.

"If Zenit and Juve reach an agreement, Bruno would like to move to Turin. This season, he was not always a starter for Zenit.

"He wants to play at a big club, and Juventus would be a great opportunity. We will see what happens in August.

"He is focussed on Euro 2012, where he has been playing great matches, showing an enviable form."

The former Porto defender, who signed for Zenit in 2010 in a deal worth €22 million, has 54 international caps for Portugal - who will take on Spain on Wednesday in their Euro 2012 semi-final contest.
