thumbnail Hello,

The 61-year-old has openly commented on the potential signing of the Dutch star, saying his arrival would be both a great marketing move and a considerable playing reinforcement

Botafogo coach Oswaldo de Oliveira is remaining upbeat about his side's chances of securing a deal for AC Milan veteran Clarence Seedorf.

The 36-year-old appears set to join the exodus at San Siro in the summer as the Rossoneri have begun the process of revamping their squad by deciding against renewing the terms of some of their most experienced out-of-contract stars.

It is understood that one of Seedorf's representatives is currently in Rio de Janeiro to hold talks with Botafogo president Mauricio Assumpcao, in the hope that a transfer will go through before the end of the week.

"Of course I know that we are trying to sign him, and if this transfer takes place, it will be a big marketing move and a big addition to the team as well," Oswaldo told reporters.

"His quality is undeniable. But he will need to adapt: his season has just ended, he is 36 years old and he will play in an unfamiliar atmosphere.

"But his wife is Brazilian and he often comes on holiday, which is good. I think he will not have a problem to control those problems."
