thumbnail Hello,

The 27-year-old striker, a 2009 arrival at El Madrigal from Internacional, saw a proposed transfer to Sao Paulo collapse because of his financial demands

Galatasaray will reportedly attempt to sign Nilmar from cash-strapped Villarreal at the end of the season.

The forward came desperately close to joining Sao Paulo during the winter transfer window but the proposed €8 million transfer collapsed because of the player's inability to agree personal terms with the Brazilian outfit.

However, Villarreal remain desperate to offload one of their most valuable assets in light of their ongoing financial problems and, according to Milliyet, Galatasaray have already confirmed their interest in Nilmar and are keen to bring him to Turkey in the summer.

Nilmar, who arrived at El Madrigal in 2009 from Internacional, recently claimed that he had no issue seeing out the remaining two years of his contract with Villarreal, but admitted a move away could yet materialise in the coming months.
