Former Old Trafford stopper reveals his delight at returning to European football after signing from OFI Crete and is targeting a place in next season's Champions League
The Northern Irishman has joined from OFI Crete and is delighted to be making a return to European football, with Olympiakos playing Rubin Kazan in the round of 32 in the Europa League in Februrary.
Since leaving Old Trafford in 2005, Carroll has played in several different countries after signing for Rangers, followed by Derby County, Danish side Odense and then on to Crete, but he is delighted to be back at a club of such stature.
"I'm very happy to have joined such a club," the Ulsterman told the club's official website.
"It's a real honour to be part of Olympiakos, Greece's greatest team. I will do my best in order to contribute and help our squad accomplish its goals.
"I'm really looking forward to the Europa League games and my own comeback to European competition.
"I'm hoping that next year we will be playing in the Champions League, because everybody wants to play at the top level. In order to be able to do so, however, we must first win the championship."
