Marseille coach Didier Deschamps has stated that Harry Redknapp's visit to Stade Velodrome was futile, despite reports of the Tottenham Hotspur boss' interest in Loic Remy.
The France forward scored two goals as Marseille ran out 2-0 winners over Lille under Redknapp's watchful eye, but Deschamps was adamant that he would not be selling the 25-year-old.
"I've spoken about it with the president [Vincent Labrune], and the matter is clear," the former France captain declared according to RMC.
"Tottenham has an economic power, but I have objectives to meet so it's not the time to lose our best players. I know Redknapp was there, but he came for nothing."
Meanhwile, Remy has also asserted his loyalty to Marseille, saying that the issue had not been on his mind.
"It certainly wasn't an extra burden for me, I didn't think about it for a second. It's good that other clubs have interest, but it's all clear.
"For me, leaving is out of the question at the moment. It's also shows a lack of respect to speak about the transfer with the supporters. They count on me. I have to progress here."
Remy has scored nine goals in 19 Ligue 1 games this season.
