Boca Juniors have reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the transfer of Santiago Silva, but the move is still pending Fifa's approval.

The two clubs have concurred on a reported €1.2 million deal for the Uruguayan forward, who has been unable to impose himself at the Stadio Artemio Franchi after joining the club from Velez Sarsfield in the summer.

However, having already played for two clubs during the course of the last year, the move is in doubt and subject to Fifa's approval.

"We have consulted Fifa [on this matter]," Boca Juniors president Daniel Angelici told Ole. "With Fiorentina and the player, everything has been taken care of.

"We are making a big effort to sign him, just like with Pablo Ledesma. He is a great player.

"If Fifa gives us the green light, he will sign for three years and it would happen before Monday."
