Universidad de Chile defender Jose Rojas has confessed he harbours 'mixed feelings' after announcing the confirmation of his transfer to Botafogo.
The club captain is to join the Brazilian outfit in a $1.2 million deal (€940,000), with a three-year deal set to be penned in the near future.
Despite his admission that he will miss his former surroundings, he is nonetheless excited about starting a new chapter in his career.
"I have mixed feelings, but all in all I'm happy, happy for my family and happy about facing new challenges, but my love swells for all the moments I've been with Universidad," admitted Rojas to Triunfo.
"I am very happy about this new challenge in my career, I think it is essential for my growth and I expect to be here for a long time and do things right."
Rojas also intimated that he expects to see one of Johnny Herrera, Marco Gonzalez and Marcelo Diaz take over the captain's armband, after being quizzed on who would be his successor.
"I do not know, there will have to be a group of candidates for a vote, as it always has been. There's Johnny Herrera, Marco Gonzalez, and you can also add Marcelo Diaz, but one of the three should [replace me]."
The full-back has made over 200 appearances for Universidad de Chile in two separate spells at the club, while earning two international caps for his native Chile.
