Bolton Wanderers hoping to sign Porto's Juan Iturbe on loan until the end of the season - report

The 18-year-old Argentine, dubbed the 'new Messi', has only played 15 minutes this season after joining from Cerro Porteno in June and is hoping for more first-team football

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is hoping to sign Porto attacker Juan Iturbe on loan until the end of the season, according to The Mirror.

Iturbe, who joined Porto after his 18th birthday in the summer, has only played 15 minutes at the Portuguese giants despite being rated by many as one of the best under-21 talents in the world.

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside has given the go ahead for the move and the club are already in negotiations with Porto.

The Trotters have been involved with loan signings in the January transfer window regularly in the last few years, with Jack Wilshere impressing on a temporary deal in 2010 and Daniel Sturridge scoring eight goals in 13 appearances last season.
