AC Milan make €3m bid for Fiorentina's Riccardo Montolivo - report
Nov 10, 2011 11:52:00 PM
The 26-year-old midfielder is seeking a move to a bigger club, and the San Siro outfit have engaged in negotiations to sign the player once the market reopens
AC Milan have put together an offer of €3 million for Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo, Sportmediaset reports. The Italy international has been strongly associated with a move to the Serie A champions in the winter transfer window as he reaches the final months of his contract.
Fiorentina are keen to prevent losing Montolivo on a free transfer in the summer and may accept a cut-price deal for the 26-year-old.
It is believed, however, that the Florence-based side will turn down Milan's proposal as they hope to at least receive €5m for the former Atalanta midfielder.
Montolivo, who has been at the Stadio Artemio Franchi since 2005, has so far made nine club appearances this season.
