The Argentina attacker will soon decide where he will be playing next season after his national team were dumped out of Copa America by Uruguay on Saturday evening
The gifted striker has publicly voiced his wish to embark on a new challenge after spending the last five years of his career at Atletico.
Real Madrid and Juventus have been tipped as frontrunners in the race to sign Aguero, while in the last 48 hours, Manchester City have been mooted as an interested party, as the Premier League side look for a replacement for the wantaway Carlos Tevez.
Aguero had indicated that he would only make a decision on his future after Copa America, and with Argentina out of the competition following Saturday's defeat against Uruguay, the player will soon make up his mind.
"He wanted the Copa America to end to sit down and talk. During this week everything will be settled," Aguero's agent, Hernan Reguera, told Ole.
The former Independiente star has been heavily criticised by Atletico's fans for pushing his way out of the club, but the player's agent has signalled the importance of a new challenge for his client's career.
"Aguero has made a lot of important things for Atletico: he renewed his contract when he was one year away from becoming a free agent, he has played over 200 matches, he spent two years without vacations," Reguera added.
"He is thankful to the fans and to the club's board. We have been talking about this for two months, I talk to the club's chiefs on a daily basis, and if it was hard for them to accept at the beginning, they have assumed it and there are no problems.
"He wants his career to grow, this has nothing to do with the money."
