AC Milan midfielder Mark Van Bommel believes any one of Marek Hamsik, Arjen Robben or Bastian Schweinsteiger would do well at San Siro, but he will not advise his club on who should come in.
The 34-year-old believes his side can do with the help of another midfielder following the departure of Andrea Pirlo.
Milan have been linked with Napoli's Hamsik, and Riccardo Montolivo of Fiorentina, but Van Bommel refrained from getting drawn in on the club's transfer objectives. The former Bayern Munich man said any top player would do well including Hamsik, Robben and Schweinsteiger.
"Who would I tell Milan to buy out of those three? It's not down to me to make these choices, but down to the club and coach," he told Il Corriere dello Sport.
"There are many good players who would like to come to Milan. I hear from Bastian and Arjen, but lets not speak about transfers.
"Everyone asks me about Milan, and I am sure there are players who would come here without any problems."
Coach Massimiliano Allegri reportedly met with Montolivo earlier this week, which has given rise to speculation Milan are after the Italy international.
