The 46-year-old is happy to see the Udinese forward lauded by the Argentine star and revealed there had no further news on the winger's proposed transfer to BarcelonaChile coach Claudio Borghi believes Lionel Messi's praise of Udinese's Alexis Sanchez represents a fantastic compliment for the player.
Messi lauded the Chilean international and likely future team-mate, calling him a 'great player' as well as saying he would be a 'sensational signing' should his transfer to Barcelona be completed.
Borghi acknowledges himself that such appreciation from the world's best player is wonderful for Sanchez.
Speaking at a press conference, Borghi said: ''One of the important comments that were made recently were those of Lionel Messi. He spoke very nice words about Alexis [Sanchez.] It's a great compliment that the best player in the world speaks well of a player from Chile.''
When asked for the umpteenth time about the in-demand winger joining Barcelona, Borghi joked: ''I think he's been sold 60 or 80 times according to the Internet!''
''He's keeping quiet though. Hopefully the move will be done soon. We need to have tranquility in the knowledge that Alexis' future is settled,'' he added.
The future of Sanchez looks almost certain to be at Camp Nou and a representative of Udinese recently revealed that the 22-year-old attacker is very close to completing his transfer to Catalunya. However Sanchez's switch may not be concluded until his nation's participation in the Copa America has concluded.
