thumbnail Hello,

The Spanish giants have secured the services of the promising midfielder in a cut-price move, which leaves them with enough firepower for the rest of the summer

Barcelona technical secretary Andoni Zubizarreta has asserted the club have snapped up Hercules midfielder Kiko Femenia.

The Spain Under-20 star will join Barcelona's B squad immediately, with his promotion into the main squad set to happen in a year's time if he manages to impress.

Femenia, a product of Hercules' youth ranks, cost Barcelona €2 million, plus €1.5m in the form of bonuses. Zubizarreta added that the Catalan club now have €43m left to spend in the summer following the arrival of the 20-year-old.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper was extremely coy when asked about the situation of Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas, who has been highly tipped to move to the Camp Nou.

"Today is not the day to count the steps for Cesc's signing, if they exist or not. We do not talk about signings until they are completed. When they are completed, we will talk about them," he told AS.

Zubizarreta, who noted Barca are "in no rush" to part company with Roma-target Bojan Krkic, affirmed his side are studying the case of Jeffren Suarez, who reportedly turned down a switch to Udinese as part of the deal which would take Alexis Sanchez to the La Liga champions.

"We have had a meeting with Jeffren and we tried to find the best solution. Together, we are trying to work for his future and growth as a footballer. We will study if there are teams interested and which teams and offers we are talking about. With all this, we will make a decision."
